This course introduces Intellectual Property Law and provides and overview of trade marks, copyright, design and patent law. The course also sets out protection available under the common law. It is a practical course aimed at businesses wanting to understand what qualifies as intellectual property under the various categories of law and what aspects thereof can be protected.

Students will learn about patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, as well as the legal frameworks that govern them.
